DaVinci Miqro Vaporizer Review

Vaper Empire E-Liquids

The new Miqro vaporizer by DaVinci is an inexpensive alternative to the DaVinci IQ, its predecessor. And while it’s considerably less expensive than the IQ, it’s also smaller and still boasts many of the same impressive features and excellent vapor production that help make the IQ one of the best vaporizers on the market today, which is quite the feat considering how ridiculously small and inexpensive it is. But there’s more to the Miqro’s story than just a low price, useful features, pocket friendly design, and top notch vapor, which is why you should continue reading this review as I explain to you what’s really up with it– both the good and the bad.

DaVinci Miqro Vaporizer
This is the DaVinci Miqro. It’s just a little bit bigger than an ordinary lighter, making one of the smallest dry herb vaporizers ever made.

Review Summary

The DaVinci Miqro is small enough to conceal in the palm of your hand, yet powerful enough to have you wondering if it's time to start micro-dosing. It offers a wide temperature range, replaceable battery, digital controls, adjustable oven, and top notch vapor -- I'm talking clean and delicious, thick and full-bodied. It just doesn't get any better than this. The Miqro is quite literally the best portable vaporizer under $150 and it's also the best portable vaporizer that I've found for personal use. There's a reason why I carry it around with me everywhere I go and that reason is simple: it's bomb as f*ck. If you want your own, I suggest you buy it directly from its manufacturer at DaVinciVaporizer.com.

In-Depth DaVinci Miqro Review

With all that the Miqro has to offer, which is obviously a lot, it does have a few drawbacks. The first is its limited battery life.

Battery Life

Each battery is capable of providing around 30 minutes of use. To put this in perspective, its predecessor, the IQ, offers about 60 to 80 minutes of use per battery. But like the IQ, you do have the ability to replace the battery at any time, which means you keep on vaping by swapping drained batteries for charged ones. This in turn alleviates much of the concern stemming from its otherwise limited battery life, as all you need is a spare battery or two handy to keep you going without a charge. And given how small the 18350 batteries are that it uses, carrying a spare or two is really a non-issue.

Warm To The Touch

And then there’s the warm to the touch issue. After prolonged use, the exterior of the vape, which is the part that you’re holding when you use it, can get a bit warm to the touch. While it doesn’t get hot enough to actually concern me, I feel like DaVinci could have done a better job shielding the user from the heat. Then again, come winter, I might actually be looking at this as a good thing.

Heat Up Time

The heat up time is not the most impressive I’ve seen. It takes about 40-50 seconds or so for it to fully heat up, although sometimes it’s a bit quicker, especially if you’re using it on a lower temperature setting. This isn’t bad by any means, but it puts it somewhat in the ballpark of what I’d consider to be the average these days.

Outside of these three minor areas of concern, I just can’t seem to come up with anything worth complaining about. This is one of the best vapes I’ve ever used and it’s also the cheapest.

Zirconium Ceramic

One area that’s particularly impressive is the zirconium ceramic vapor path, which works out really nice- producing tasty vapor without the concern of broken glass. And the powerful heating element compliments it well, pushing out some serious clouds of vapor, which surprised me at first given how small and inexpensive the vape is. Typically, I’ve found that when it comes to portable vapes within the Miqro’s price range, especially those designed for dry herbs, the vapor production can be pretty lousy. Which is why it’s nice to come across the Miqro, as it actually produces some really nice vapor.

Draw Resistance

The draw resistance is surprisingly low, making it that much more pleasant to use. None of that sucking through a straw effect. Just smooth, easy ripping. But you have to keep it clean because it tends to get a little clogged after five or so sessions.

Cleaning & Maintenance

As for when you should clean it, I suggest cleaning it after every five or so bowls, that way it stays nice and clean without any noticeable obstructions in the vapor path increasing the draw resistance. And if you’re worried about hard it is to clean, there’s no need to worry because it’s actually really easy to clean, and much easier than the IQ for that matter.

Digital Controls

The temperature controls, in a basic sense, are really easy to use. However, you can actually take things to the next level by taking advantage of the Smart Paths feature, which allows you to either use the preset paths or to program your own. With the Smart Paths, you’re basically telling the vape to heat up to a specific temperature and to hold it there for a specific amount of time before changing to another temperature and so on. This means you can tell it to heat up to 380°F and hold it there for 30 seconds and then jump up to 410°F and hold it there for a minute. Definitely a feature that’s worth using, but not my favorite part of the Miqro’s heating controls.

Boost Mode

My all-time favorite heating feature is the Boost Mode. All you do is hold down the button and the temperature starts climbing until it reaches the maximum temperature, which is 430°F. While I sometimes use it at the start of a session, I typically find use for it at the end of my sessions, as it allows me to squeeze whatever’s left out of my herb before I dump it and pack a fresh one.

Adjustable Oven

The variable oven size is another feature that I’ve come to deeply appreciate. With this feature, you can make the bowl 50% smaller, which is great for micro-dosing. This way, you don’t have to pack as much to fill the bowl and it still vaporizes as it should: effectively and efficiently.

Size

Speaking of size, I really can’t stress how small the Miqro is. It really does justice to its name, as it’s basically just a tad bit larger than ordinary lighter — seriously, it’s that small.

The Verdict

Given its limited battery life, the Miqro is not the ideal vape for sharing. But when you take into account how small it is, how powerful it is, and how easily it conceals in a pocket- it’s easy to see why it’s quickly become my go-to-vape. At this point, if I’m not carrying an oil pen, it’s almost certainly a Miqro that you’ll find in my pocket because it’s just that good. I recommend it to anyone in need of a rock solid portable for daily personal use. You can buy it online from this store.
