Is Vaping Healthier Than Smoking Cigarettes?

Is it really healthier to vape than it is to smoke cigarettes? The answer, in short, is yes – probably. We have to say “probably” because the scientific debate continues today, however, there is a growing body of scientific evidence to support the theory that vaping is indeed healthier than smoking cigarettes. So much so that NHS Health Scotland, which is part of the the United Kingdom’s National Health Service, formally recommended current smokers take up vaping instead. And how did they reach their decision? Scientific research.

In their official statement, NHS Health Scotland stated that there’s “now agreement based on the current evidence that vaping e-cigarettes is definitely less harmful than smoking tobacco.”

“There is now agreement based on the current evidence that vaping e-cigarettes is definitely less harmful than smoking tobacco.”

During last year’s Stoptober campaign, which is run by Public Health England with the aim of helping smokers quit, the U.K. government took a similar stance in recommending vaping to smokers who are keen on quitting.

So while we do say “probably,” we mean almost definitely.

Vaporizing is almost definitely healthier than smoking.

Of course, it is important to take note of what you’re putting in your vaporizer as not all things are made equal, as is the case with vape juices. And there’s a chance you’ll want to avoid nicotine infused e-liquids entirely, as new research conducted by UCLA professor of medicine Dr. Holly Middlekauff shows that there’s a chance nicotine could be bad for your heart.

But as it pertains to the question of vaping versus smoking, our answer remains the same: vaping is most likely healthier than smoking.
