The announcement comes after the company took a three month break, a “pause” as they called it, to address what they referred to as “manufacturing processes” in a statement announcing the resumption of Lux shipments to pre-sale customers, new purchasers, and crowdfunders — the latter being those who contributed to the Lux vaporizer’s crowdfunding campaign.

Loto Lux: The Crowdfunded Induction Vape

The Lux vape’s crowdfunding campaign was launched by Neeraj Bhardwaj, the co-founder and president of Loto Labs, on Indiegogo, a crowdfunding platform and website. While its funding goal was set to just $70,000 (USD), it managed to raise over $218,000 from over 1,780 backers.

Evoke Vaporizer, Anyone?

Anyone familiar with the Evoke will almost certainly notice an uncanny resemblance between the two and that’s not just your mind playing tricks on you, there’s actually a simple explanation.

The Loto Lux Vaporizer and the Evoke are one in the same. As the Lux’s crowdfunding campaign page on Indiegogo makes clear: “Evoke Vaporizer is now the Loto Lux Vaporizer.”

Induction Stands Alone

When it comes to vaping, induction as a heating method is by no means the standard. Currently, the industry standard is resistive heating, but Loto Labs is looking to change this with the introduction of their Lux, the world’s first induction vaporizer.

Explaining the benefits of induction heating technology as it applies to vaporizing, Loto Labs co-founder and physicist Andrew Bleloch, PhD, said in a statement that induction’s speed, flavor, and efficiency are all “unmatched by anything else on the market,” which is certainly a bold claim to say the least.

“The speed, efficiency, and flavor delivered by induction are unmatched by anything else on the market.”

Dr. Bleloch went on to explain that traditional vaporizers, which use resistive heating technology, expose “significant portions of the vaping materials to hotspots” which in turn “leads to bad flavor and poor vapor quality as those systems struggle to quickly achieve a generally desirable average temperature.”

“Due to the limitations of resistive technology, traditional vaporizers have to climb to undesirable temperatures, exposing significant portions of the vaping materials to hotspots. That invariably leads to bad flavor and poor vapor quality as those systems struggle to quickly achieve a generally desirable average temperature.”

Induction, comparatively, maintains a “far more uniform” temperature and it does so “virtually immediately,” which is just one of the reasons why Lux’s output tastes that much better than the competition, according to Dr. Bleloch.

“With induction heating, on the other hand, the temperature is far more uniform, and virtually immediately so, which is among the reasons the Lux tastes so much better.”

By Loto Labs’ account, Lux, which uses electromagnetic induction and magnetic hysteresis to produce vapor, offers the first “truly new heating technology” to come out of the vaporizer industry in the last decade plus.

Features

Lux is a handheld/portable vaporizer designed for concentrates. According to its manufacturer, it takes just 3 seconds to heat up and begin producing vapor, offers 200 puffs per fully charged battery, and single capsule is capable of delivering dozens of sessions before it runs out.

The entire device is powered by an 18650 Lithium-ion battery, which is rated at 2600 mAh and both rechargeable as well as removable/user-replaceable.

Lux vaporizers are designed and assembled in the United States – California to be exact. And according to their manufacturer, Loto Labs, their heating technology “delivers pure, thick vapor with unmatched speed, taste and impact.”
