Prrl Labs, based in Portland, Oregon, is transforming otherwise ordinary pipes into vaporizers with a new product that takes the place of a lighter.
This new product — which there are two beta models of, the Ember and Prrl — is currently available for pre-order. How does it work? It injects concentrated heat into the bowl, which vaporizes the blend instead of burning it like an ordinary lighter would otherwise do.
With these new device, smokers can quickly transform their pipes into vapes and in the process, become vapers.
At this time, the beta versions of Prrl Labs’ new product is only capable of supporting enclosed pipes. In the future, the company aims to offer interchangeable gauges that will allow for any style of pipe to be used.
The beta versions available for pre-order are crafted from wood and contain a coil that heats up rapidly, providing the heat necessary to vaporize the contents of any bowl they’re attached to.
