A robber wearing a Cowboys football team sweatshirt, sunglasses, and a bandana around his face made off with around $2,000 worth of vaping supplies after he brazenly robbed the Tokin Eddie’s vape shop in Katy, Texas.
The store’s manager, Alexandria Jackson, was quoted by Click2Houston as having said that the bandit pulled out his gun “within a few seconds” of entering the store and demanded that the employee working show him the locations of the store’s safe and register.
“A guy walks in right after our last customer walks out and, within a few seconds, he has a gun pulled out and he’s telling her to turn off the lights, lock the store and show him where the safe and register is.”
Jackson added that the robber “was walking around” while collecting items and threatening the female employee who was working at the time of the incident.
“For about five minutes, he was walking around, collecting items, while threatening her, saying, ‘Stay on the ground. Do as I say.”
Surveillance footage, which captured the entirety of the brazen robbery, shows the suspect pulling out a firearm and stealing both cash as well as merchandise that included vapes, oils, batteries, and e-liquids.
By Jackson’s account, the suspect is “trying to take advantage of people getting healthy by taking everything and selling it on the market himself.” By “getting healthy,” Jackson is almost certainly referencing the suspected health benefits for smokers who transition over to vaping.
The robbery took place at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2018.
