Thieves in Portland, Oregon literally hit a local vape shop with their truck and made off with stolen merchandise.

The thieves put a truck in reverse and drove straight into the vape shop, allowing them to break into the shop and steal armfuls of products, security camera footage showed.

“I swear when I saw this footage, I thought I was watching “Mission Impossible,” the store’s owner Sami Hales said.

The store that was robbed, House of Vape on Southeast Powell Boulevard, is one of 19 vape shops that Hales owns. While this isn’t the first time that one of his locations has been burglarized, it appears the robberies are getting more sophisticated.

“They’re doing it professionally,” Hales said. “It doesn’t matter what I do for security, they still rob me.”

After the truck reserved its way through the physical security erected at the store’s entrance, three thieves proceeded to steal merchandise from the shop. By Hales’ account, this latest burglary cost him around $100,000 between the products stolen and the damages to the store.

Hales referred to the brazen theft as “an open buffet” while noting that the robbers hurt him bad.

“They hurt me bad.”

Tobacco shops are not permitted to have product insurance, which has resulted in Hales being left with the bill.

While he believes that Portland has been “getting worse and worse,” he remains optimistic that the city will go back to being “safe and good.”
