Hmbldt Vaporizer Company Changes Name To Dosist

If you’re wondering where Hmbldt, a vaporizer manufacturer behind a particularly popular vape pen known as the Dose Pen, went – they didn’t go anywhere, they just changed their name.

The Hmbldt company is now known as Dosist, as of December 26, 2017.

For those that are unaware of their products, the company’s design philosophy incorporates the necessity for precision dosing, which is something that many, if not most, vaporizer manufacturers ignore entirely. With Dosist’s vapes, the dosage is controlled, allowing users to regulate their intake to a fine degree. In the words of the company’s CEO, Gunner Winston, this is what makes their company and the products they create unique – dosage.

“Dosage is the justification for everything we do and every product we create. It is what makes our formulas effective and our product advanced, and what differentiates us from the competition.”

It is for this reason that one of the company’s vapes appeared in Time Magazine’s “Top 25 Inventions of 2016” list. If you’re not impressed yet, just wait to see what this company comes out with next.

Their new website, Dosist.com, went live on December 26, 2017. There, you can find information on all their latest products and public offerings.

And if you’re wondering just how well their vapes work, you can take a look at Mark H.K. Choi’s review of some of them in a piece he wrote for The Atlantic.

Wondering why the company changes its name? The answer might have something to do with Hmbldt being a reference to California’s Humboldt County, which in turn could potentially limit the company to purchasing at least some of their supplies from Humboldt County. As the company’s CEO, Winston, put it in an email he wrote to Green State, it’s about the company’s “future.” And with a brand name that builds off the credibility and reputation of California’s legendary Humboldt County, it’s easy to see how some folks might have certain expectations.

What do you think, was the name change necessary for the company to evolve beyond the borders of California or could they just as well have remained Hmbldt? And to those of you who have tried their products, what do you think? Let us know in the comments section below.
