Four high school students in Georgia have reportedly fallen ill after vaping, sparking concerns over underage access to vaping products.

All four students attend the same high school in Georgia’s Forsyth County, Forsyth High School. According to WBRC, the students fell ill after vaping Kronic Juice, a vape additive intended to be added to other vape juices.

Troy Brumbalow, the Mayor of Cumming city, which is home to Forsyth High School, was quoted by WBRC as having said that his concern is that it is “so easy for them to be putting in the marijuana oils or anything else,” he said in regards to underage access to vaping products.

“That’s my concern. It’s so easy for them to be putting in the marijuana oils or anything else (…) It’s not three strikes you’re out. You’re dealing with our kids… one strike’s enough for me.”

Brumbalow’s city recently passed an ordinance that restricts marketing of such products to minors and requires new licensing practices.

The clerk at King Puff vape shop located on Atlanta Road in the City of Cumming, which was busted by authorities for allegedly selling to minors, responded to an inquiry from a CBS46 reporter, Hayley Mason, who asked about the sale of such products to minors. In response, the clerk, identified in news reports as Masud Siddique, reportedly said that they “card everyone” at the shop.

“We card everyone. If you look under 35 years old you get carded.”

Siddique added that he “didn’t sell to minors,” but then added that he “sold one time” and that one time “was sick” and the cops “also said that your eyes was blurry.” By his account, he didn’t sell Kronic to underage buyers, but a mango flavored vape juice instead. By his account, he made a mistake.
