How To Choose A Vape Starter Kit For E-Liquid

Vaper Empire E-Liquids

This guide covers everything you need to know about vape starter kits to select and purchase the best vape starter kit to fit your needs.

Budget Comes First

Before you can consider which vapes might be a good fit for you, you’re going to need to figure out how much you can spend. While vape kits vary greatly in price, it’s worth noting that a new vape kit can easily be purchased for well under $50.

Cheap Vape Kits

For budget friendly vapes, the Vapester vape shop’s UK vaping kit guide recommends the Aspire PockeX starter kit and the slightly more expensive Innokin Endura T20-S starter kit.

The PockeX by Aspire, one of the more popular vapes on the market, is designed for mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping and works with tanks that have coil resistances between 0.5 an 2.0 ohms. The stock tank has a coil resistance of 0.6 ohms.

The Endura T20-S by Innokin is powered by a 1500 mAh battery with a maximum power output of 18 watts. Its 0.8 ohm coil resistance makes it compatible with both MTL and DTL (direct-to-lung) vapers.

Choose Your Vape Type

While the Endura T20-S and the PockeX might be excellent vapes for vapers that have a reasonably good idea of what they’re doing when it comes to vaporizers of the e-cigarette variety, there are simpler vapes available. This is why it’s a good idea to determine which type of e-cig is right for you before you rush off to buy a kit. Here are the main types of vapes you’ll come across:

  • Disposable cigalikes
  • Rechargeable cigalikes
  • Pod vape systems
  • Pen vapes
  • Vape mods

Cigalikes

Disposable cigalikes are your standard e-cigs, cigarette-like appearance and all. They’re easy to use and require just about no prior knowledge of vaping to figure out. Smokers feel at home with cigalikes because they work similar to traditional cigarettes, only they produce vapor instead of smoke and don’t require a lighter to get going. Just inhale and the cigalike does the rest, churning out vapor without so much as a press of a button. Of course, there are those that do require a button to be pressed, but most don’t.

Rechargeable cigalikes are designed to be reused. While disposables are done once their e-juice runs out and their battery dies, rechargeable cigalikes keep on going for quite some time, providing vapers with what is generally a more cost effective alternative to disposables. With rechargeable cigalike e-cigs, vapers buy e-cig refills that are known as cartomizers or cartridges (“carts” for short). The cartridges contain e-liquid and aren’t usually designed to be refilled, although some are — this is the difference between pre-filled cartridges and refillable cartridges.

Pod Vaping Systems

Pod vapes, made popular in the US by JUUL, are more powerful than cigalikes but they’re slightly less compact. Like cigalikes, there are disposable pod vapes and there are refillable pod vapes. Disposable ones are used once and then tossed (preferably recycled). Refillable ones come with rechargeable pod vape batteries and pods that open up so that they can be refilled with vape juice. There’s also a third type of pod vape, which combines a rechargeable battery with a pre-filled pod that’s not designed to be refilled, which is what JUUL is. With this latter option, vapers recharge their device battery but dispose of their vape pods after each use, replacing depleted pods with new ones.

One of the big differences between pod vapes and cigalikes is that there are a lot of pod vapes that offer refillable pods, whereas cigalikes are relatively limited in this regard.

Pen Vaporizers

The vape pen is one of the most popular styles of e-cigs ever made. Their use has become widespread among vapers throughout the years for a number of reasons:

  1. Vape pens are compact, making them good for on the go use.
  2. They’re typically much more powerful than cigalikes, providing more vaping power (superior vapor production) and longer battery life.
  3. Vaporizer pens offer cartridges that hold more e-juice than cigalikes.
  4. With single-button operation being common with vape pens, they’re among the easiest vapes to use.
  5. They’re inexpensive. Cheap vape pen kits are readily abundant.
  6. They often have more features than cigalikes, including adjustable airflow and variable voltage.

Vape Mods

For vapers who like to control everything about their vape, there are vape mods. Voltage, wattage, airflow – these are all variables that mods offer control over. While there are many different types of mods, they’re often categorized as highly technical in nature with steep learning curves compared to other vape types. Some require knowledge of building coils, replacing coils, and other forms of maintenance in order to operate, which is one of the reasons many vapers prefer to use simpler types of e-cigarettes like pod vapes and pens. But for those who want to customize their vape’s tank, use custom coils, calibrate their settings and so on, the mod vape is the only real solution.

Those impressed with digital displays have another reason to appreciate the mods, as many mods are equipped with digital displays that show information such as voltage and wattage.

The Best Vape Starter Kit For You

If you find yourself in search of a simple vape that’s easy to use and maintain but not a big producer of vapor, there’s a good chance what you want is a cigalike. This is the most basic form of an e-cigarette you can find, but there’s a better option today: the pod vape. Pod vapes are like cigalikes with a nice boost in every area where it counts. They’re just a little bit bigger but they have much better vapor production, longer lasting batteries, and higher e-juice capacity.

If you want something a little bigger that’s still compact enough to be considered truly portable, a pen vape could be just what you’re looking for. A good pen vape can be picked up for cheap and finding one with the features that you want shouldn’t be too much of an issue given the wide selection available on the open market.

For more power, more control, and the ability to customize everything, it’s a vape mod kit you want to buy. But make sure you know what you’re doing because mods do require more advanced knowledge of vaping and vaping hardware than other types of vapes.
