Palm 1.0 Vaporizer Review

The Palm 1.0 Vaporizer by VaporBlunt might look like a hi-tech pipe — which, in a sense, it is — but in reality it’s a battery-powered portable vaporizer that’s mechanically reminiscent of the Magic Flight Launch Box, only it doesn’t work as well and it tastes terrible.

Tastes Like Plastic

While I was told to heat cycle this vape before using, which I did by repeatedly engaging the heating element in an attempt to burn off any residues leftover from the manufacturing process, I could never manage to get it to taste “clean.” By which I mean: I couldn’t get it to stop tasting like plastic. Gross.

Note: That’s my rating above. Half a star. And even that might be too much. It looks cool, the concept is sound, but the execution is all off. This is not a vape I recommend.

Mind you, I do seem to be particularly sensitive in this regard so it may be that I’m the oddball here, but after having a few friends puff on it– I think it’s pretty clear: this vape tastes pretty nasty when you hit it. And on top of this, the vapor is light and wispy, not dense and full-bodied like I personally prefer.

Looks Nice

While it tastes bad, I will admit that it does look fairly nice. It has this simple, almost cute appearance reminiscent of a little pipe, only with a battery sticking out of it and a lid covering the bowl. I like the look, but appearances certainly aren’t everything and when it comes to vaping, I’d much prefer an ugly vape that works well over a cool looking one that works like garbage. That said, this is simply not the vape for me.

Heats Up Fast

If there is one thing that the Palm does well, it’s heat up fast. Once you engage the heating element by pushing the battery in, it only takes five seconds or so for it to reach vaping temperatures. Compared to some of the other dry herb portables on the market, it’s heat up time is fast- really fast.

My Recommendation

If you want my opinion on whether or not to buy this vape, here it is: literally buy just about any other vaporizer because this one simply isn’t worth the money. While it is relatively inexpensive, costing less than $100, it’s just not worth it. I’d much rather put the money into another vape, one that actually works well, and I suggest you do the same, which is why you may want to take a look at one of my personal favorites: the Arizer Solo 2.
