Why Does My Vape Have A Burnt Taste?

Vaper Empire E-Liquids

There are a number of reasons why the vapor produced by a vaporizer might taste burnt. That’s exactly what we’re going to explode in this guide, the reasons why vapes sometimes taste burnt.

Vape Coils

The first thing you might want to check if your vape tastes burnt is its coil. Is the coil new? If it’s not, there’s chance that it might be time to replace it.

If your vape tastes like burnt cotton or it’s burning the back of your throat when you hit it, there’s a chance it’s time to swap that old burnt out coil for a new one. There’s also a chance that it hasn’t properly wicked up the e-juice you’re trying to vape, in which case, you may want to take the time to learn how to properly prime your coil heads in order to avoid burnt hits.

Priming Coils

In order to prime a vape’s coil, follow these simple instructions:

  1. Drop a few drops of e-juice on the wick holes on a brand new coil just after installing it.
  2. Fill up the tank or cartridge with juice and then let the coil sit in it for 30 minutes or so in order to soak up the juice.

*Note: Never exceed the maximum wattage recommended by the coil head’s manufacturer.

Adjusting Wattage

If you’ve adhered to the instructions above and you’re still getting burnt hits, it’s time to take control of your vaporizer’s settings. Assuming you have a vape mod or some other type of vape that allows for the wattage to be adjusted, you may want to lower the wattage because it could be that the wattage is too high for the coil that you’re using, which in turn could be burning your coil.

You may also want to adjust the rate at which you inhale. Try drawing more slowly and see what happens. But if you’ve tried all this and you still can’t get that burnt taste out of your vape, it might be time to take a look at what you’re vaping.

Check Your Juice

If you’re unable to resolve the burnt taste, it might be time to check the e-juice you’re vaping. If it’s too high in VG, your vape might not be able to handle it. The reason being the high level of viscosity associated with e-juice blends that are high in VG. You may want to try a juice with lower levels of VG and higher levels of PG.
