An armed robber held up a vape shop in Oklahoma City, the Vape It vape store, and reportedly conveyed his reasoning for the robbery to a shop employee during the incident.

Local news outlet KFOR quoted the employee as having said that the suspect said, “I don’t want to do this, but my family is in trouble” right after he demanded that the shop fork-over is its cash.

The man reportedly told the employee that he did not have to open the store’s safe and subsequently fled after obtaining the money from the register.

Authorities are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect. The Oklahoma City Police Department posted a surveillance video of the incident to their YouTube channel. Those who recognize the individual are asked to call 405-235-7300 or to leave an anonymous tip via the okccrimetips.com website.

In related news, we recently reported here at Vaporizer Wire on a shop in Hammond, Louisiana, the Create-A-Cig shop, that was burglarized by two young men in the middle of the night. While there was a firearm involved in the burglary, it was not nearly as brazen as the daylight robbery in Oklahoma City in which the perpetrator allegedly robbed the store at gunpoint.
