Does Vaping Make You Put On Weight?

Vaper Empire E-Liquids

While vaping might cause some to put on weight, there’s actually evidence to the contrary, or to be more specific: evidence that vaping could help some users lose weight, not gain it.

That’s right folks, researchers from Massey University in New Zealand who studied evidence pertaining to the inhalation of flavored vapor produced by e-cigs and weight loss have found evidence to support the notion that vaping flavored e-juices may act as an appetite suppressant for some, allowing them to shed potentially unwanted pounds.

But before you run with this information down to a local vape shop to pickup a new vape kit, there’s a chance that you may want to reconsider if you’re not a smoker who is looking to give up the deadly habit. Here’s why.

For smokers looking to quit smoking, there is evidence to suggest that vaping is a far less harmful alternative that can help them quit smoking once and for all. But for non-smokers, there’s the possibility of inherent health risks that are not yet fully studied.

The aforementioned vaping weight loss study was published in the journal Tobacco Control and Research under the title: “Could vaping be a new weapon in the battle of the bulge?”

The study’s co-authors include Associate Professor Marewa Glover with the school of public health at Massey University, appetite and metabolic health expert Professor Bernhard Breier, and University of Stirling Professor Linda Bauld.
