The Blu e-cig company, which is owned by Imperial Brands, has launched a new portable vape known as MyBlu. Here’s what we know about it thus far.
Portability
It’s designed for e-liquids, which are liquid nicotine blends. It’s small, but not as small as your typical electronic cigarette. In fact, it more closely resembles a vape pen than it does the average e-cig. We find its appearance reminiscent of a Juul vape, which is perhaps what Blu was shooting for with their design. Juul being, for those that don’t know, the most popular e-cig in the U.S. at this time based on current market share.
In comparison to the Blu’s standard reusable e-cig, it’s just a tad bit longer, but roughly twice as wide.
Battery Life And Charging
While we’re not sure exactly how long the battery that powers it lasts on a full charge, Blu claims on its website that the MyBlu battery “lasts all day.” And as for the recharge time, Blu claims it takes just 20 minutes to recharge.
MyBlu recharges via a micro-USB charging cable, which is compatible with various devices. This means, so long as a USB adapter is available, one can charge the device in a car, via a wall-mounted electrical outlet, or by simply plugging it directly into a laptop or similar USB enabled device. Definitely a convenient way to charge in today’s hi-tech age.
MyBlu Pods Flavors
While some vape pens are compatible with virtually all e-liquids, MyBlu users must rely on Blu brand liquid pods designed specifically for the device. In other words, one can’t simply buy some e-juice and drop it in and vape away because the MyBlu is only compatible with its own MyBlu pods, which are currently available in just eight flavors. Those flavors are as follows:
- Magnificent Menthol
- Classic Tobacco
- Polar Mint
- Vivid Vanilla
- Cherry Crush
- Gold Leaf
- Carolina Bold
- Blueberry
Nicotine Strength
Nicotine-free MyBlu pods are not currently available, but Blu does offer a couple of different strengths, which is perhaps useful to those who are looking to wind down their nicotine dependency. The nicotine levels currently available are 2.4 percent and 1.2 percent.
MyBlu Cost And Discount
For a liquid vape pen, MyBlu seems to be fairly reasonably priced at just $28.98 (USD). And if that wasn’t cheap enough, Blu is currently offering it for just $26.08 as part of a new trial offer.
MyBlu Starter Kit Contents
The starter kit, as it’s called, comes with one MyBlu vaporizer, a gold leaf 2.4 percent tobacco “Liquidpod,” a USB charger, and an “extra” MyBlu Liquidpod. The buyer has the option to select the flavor of the extra pod that comes with the kit.
