The Puff Bar is one of those e-cigarettes that just about every vaper in the United States knows about, thanks in part to the media coverage it has received as well as its widespread availability in local vape stores across the country. Although it’s undoubtedly one of the more popular disposable e-cigs these days, the question remains: is it worth buying? After using multiple Puff Bars, I’ve put together this review. Read on if you’re interested in learning whether it’s the right e-cig for you.
Note: This Puff Bar review pertains to the regular Puff Bar, not the Puff Nano or Puff Plus. While the other two are quite similar, I have yet to personally test them so this review is limited to the standard Puff Bar, which holds 1.8ml of vape juice and is powered by a 350mAh vape battery that’s designed to deliver 400 puffs.
The Flavors Are Good
All of the Puff Bar flavors that I’ve tried so far have been pleasant. I haven’t tried them all, in part because some of them just don’t appeal to me. The ones I have tried, though, have been pretty good – about what you’d expect from a mid-grade vape juice I’d say. Nothing particularly mind-blowing, but pretty good all the same.
In total, there appear to be around 20 flavors to choose from. This might not sound like much to vapers who use bottled e-liquids to fill their own tanks and pods, but it’s a lot of flavors for a disposable e-cig and many of the flavors, if not all of them, can be found at local shops that carry the brand.
The Design Is Simple
If you’re familiar with the Juul, which surely many of you are, then you already have a good idea of what a Puff Bar looks like. It’s long like a vape pen but with hard edges like the Juul. Some might even say it looks somewhat like a long USB drive.
What I really like about the design is what I like about all disposable vapes and that’s how simple it is. There isn’t a button that needs to be pressed and there’s nothing that needs to be refilled. You don’t even need to charge the battery. You just use it. And when it’s done, you toss it.
It Lasts A While
I’ve not tracked exactly how long it lasts, but 400 puffs are quite a few. I believe it lasts a day or more, for me, which is pretty impressive given how often I typically vape. If you’re a heavy vaper, you might go through one in a day, possibly more. I highly doubt you’d ever vape straight through two of them in a single day, but I guess it is possible.
There Are Virtually No Hassles
Back to the simplicity of the vape’s design, this is what really sells me on e-cigs like the Puff Bar. There’s just nothing you have to deal with. You pick it up and take a puff when you want, then set it down and forget about it until you’re ready to vape again. To me, that simplicity is something to appreciate, especially in a world where there are hassles like coil replacements and tank refillings to contend with when using some of the other vapes out there.
The Vapor Is More Than Adequate
With 5% nic salt e-juice inside of each Bar, I’ve found the vapor it produces to be more than adequate. It gets the job done and then some. It’s not a cloud chaser, that’s for sure. But it is an e-cig that’s capable of providing enough nicotine to fend off any cravings. Hit it hard enough and you might find yourself overwhelmed, but take it easy and it’s quite enjoyable.
Is It Worth Buying?
I like Puff Bars. They’re not my favorite vapes, but with a lot of flavors to choose from, widespread availability through local vape stores, and a design that makes them extremely easy to use, I can’t help but appreciate what they are and what they offer. If you just want a simple vape that you don’t have to fuss with, then this is one of the ones to definitely consider.
