Prodigy Vape and CBD Supply, a vape shop chain based in Oklahoma city, was robbed twice in one week and it appears as if the thieves may not have been in cahoots with one another.
As one of the store’s managers, David Scott, was quoted by KFOR as having explained, the second group of thieves to hit the store “are not the same people according to what it looks like on camera.”
“They were in there a lot longer. They are not the same people according to what it looks like on camera. At that store, they took literally all of our inventory as far as mods go, all of our CBD supplies, they were also able to get cash.”
This second group, comprised of two individuals, both male, broke into the vape shop after first breaking into a restaurant located next door to the shop. They then broke through some drywall, through which they entered the vape shop’s restroom and then began their plundering spree. Eventually making off with both merchandise and cash.
But before all that, a lone thief smashed one of the vape shop’s windows with an object and then proceeded to make his way into the shop and fill up his bag with merchandise before a dentist next door, who had heard the racket, seemingly spooked the suspect, who then fled out the back of the shop.
The Oklahoma City Police Department is asking the public for assistance in identifying and capturing the suspected thieves. Those with information are asked to call the department.
The vape shop that was robbed’s manager also indicated that the shop is “offering a cash reward for anyone who has any information leading to the arrest of one of these people.” He added that anyone who doesn’t “feel comfortable” talking to local law enforcement can call the shop with any tips or leads they might have that could lead to an arrest.
“We are offering a cash reward for anyone who has any information leading to the arrest of one of these people. If you don’t feel comfortable talking to the police, you can call up here.”
Unfortunately, it appears as if vape shops have become targets in recent years for criminals after a quick come-up.
